On June 1, ARCORES Dominican began the second phase of the Por una Vida Digna Integral project for pregnant adolescents. At this stage of the program, the young women will receive, divided into two groups, workshops on entrepreneurship and trades, in which the adolescents’ partners and parents will also be able to participate.
This second phase of the project began with a meeting to explain the work methodology. Present at the meeting were the 16 adolescents who have already completed the first phase, together with their babies, the project assistant Bernarda Echavarría, Dr. Belkis Castro and the president of ARCORES Dominicana, Cruz Echeverría OAR.
Inauguration of the hall
The meeting also marked the inauguration of the new room on the second floor of the San Agustín de Bajos de Haina medical dispensary. The room has been furnished with the help of the Banreservas Foundation.
After explaining in detail this second phase of the project, the girls asked questions and told how they experienced the first phase. Finally, Dr. Castro gave some guidance on the care and pediatric follow-up of the babies.
