Donation from ARCORES and the Augustinian Recollects
Four months after the start-up in Ukraine of the Interfamily Clinic in Uzhhorod, the management of the center has been able to purchase an energy storing battery and thus have lighting and internet. ARCORES has supported this clinic with 3,000 euros, while the Augustinian Recollects of England sent 1,744.07 euros.
Power cuts
The hospital did not expect that the risks to the survival of the clinic would be aggravated by external factors, since Uzhhorod is one of the safest areas of Ukraine. Still, it suffers from constant power and heating cuts and air raid warnings. Recent massive Russian missile attacks have ruined 50% of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, including this city.
Without generators and batteries, the clinic premises get cold quickly, so staff members and patients have to stay in the premises in warm clothes. In addition, they are forced to work with auxiliary lighting and medical examinations are much shorter.
