Armed conflict in Himamaylan
Ten sacks of rice will soon be distributed by ARCORES Philippines to the families who were affected by the armed conflict that happened in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental. The local government of this city declared a state of calamity, following series of armed encounters.
The rice donation is given by RESOURCE-Handumanan Foundation, Incorporated earlier today through its ongoing project, “Pantry ni San Jose” funded by ARCORES International.
Call for the end of the conflict
RESOURCE-Handumanan is grateful to the University Community Development Office (UCDO) University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos and Diocesan Social Action Center for serving as a channel for sending food and non-food item support and assistance to the affected families in the armed conflict.
ARCORES International for its part calls for the end of the ‘armed conflict’ and the resumption of the peace talks between the Philippine government and the rebels, which will benefit the communities displaced by the militarization and armed conflicts.
