Last January 12, USJ-R INFECOP (University of San José-Recoletos Institute of Non-Formal Education and Community Outreach Program) conducted “Project Eskoyla ni San José” at City Cebu. There were 50 pupils who benefited from the program. Each of them received one backpack with school supplies and one pack of food (canned good and pancit canton). The sponsors of the project were Setforth Philippines for the 50 backpacks with schools supplies and St. Ezkiel Moreno Novitiate House-Recoletos for the 50 packs of food.
“Lamesa ni San José”
Besides, ARCORES International, in coordination with USJ-R INFECOP continues the program “Lamesa ni San José” (St. Joseph’s table). This is a three-month food pantry program intended for the homeless adults and street children around the university area. These beneficiaries are greatly affected by the covid-19 pandemic.
Free packed lunch were shared to the beneficiaries on the months of October, November and December 2021. A total of 1,200 homeless children and adults received the packed lunch. The program was implemented through the financial assistance of ARCORES International, the gift of self of Chef Richard Hao who willingly cooked and prepared the food, the humble service of Mr. Bryan Maningo who led the volunteers during the distribution of the packed lunch to the beneficiaries, and the supervision of INFECOP under the directorship of Fray Rouel M. Sia, OAR.
