From June 28-30, the ARCORES International Assembly was held at the Solidarity Network’s technical office in Madrid.
On the first day, the 2019-2022 strategic plan, which has just been finalized, was evaluated. Javier Sanchez, director of ARCORES International, highlighted as main achievements of this period: the implementation of specific social projects, the creation of new National ARCORES, networking, work in emergencies, and training in projects and in attracting resources for technicians and volunteers, among others. In addition, during the first day, the strategic plan for 2023-2026 was approved.

Good governance
On Thursday, June 29, the representatives of the National ARCORES and the different branches of the Augustinian Recollect Family received a workshop on good governance in non-profit organizations, given by Ramiro Viñuales, coordinator of the Fundación Salvador Soler – Mundo Justo.
Viñuales remarks as positive in the work of ARCORES that it is “a plural, dynamic, lively, diverse organization, present in many countries and with a very close commitment”.

This Friday, June 30, the members of the Assembly worked on concrete actions of the 2023 action plan, such as the evaluation of the social impact of ARCORES projects and the planning of the Heart Solidarity Day 2023.In addition, each National ARCORES presented the situation in which it finds itself and its prospects for the future. Finally, they received a message from the Prior General of the Order of Augustinian Recollects, Miguel Angel Hernandez, who recalled that the center of the Augustinian Recollect vocation, both for religious and seculars, is closeness to the poor and the suffering. The three days of the Assembly ended with a fraternal meal.
