At the midpoint of our experience within the Educar project, promoted by the Arcores Solidarity Network of the Augustinian Recollects, various activities are included, among which we also find giving talks to teachers from the Fray Luis de León, San Judas Tadeo, and Community Center schools, all three schools located in Caracas, as part of their training.
The talks have fundamentally focused on three directions: “Students with Special Educational Needs and their intervention,” “New methodologies (gamification) applied in the classroom,” and “Use of new technologies to improve student learning.”

In this same school, and always with English as the main vehicle of communication, fun spoken English sessions were given to the ‘chamos’ (kids), and in parallel, the most entertaining sports and musical activities, with the aim of instilling a first contact with this second language and making classes more dynamic and bearable.
To close this new stage of volunteering, we visited the Mecedores neighborhood where we were invited to participate in Children’s Day by organizing games and distributing snacks, undoubtedly another most interesting experience during our period as volunteers here in Venezuela.
We can affirm that this second contact continues to exceed our expectations: due to the warm reception of our work from both children and adults, and due to the human warmth of the neighbors from El Palomar neighborhood and surroundings who welcomed us with open arms.
May God continue to bless us in our third and final stage as Arcores volunteers in this welcoming tropical country.
